Update Your SRD Banking Details

Keeping your banking details up to date helps prevent payment delays. If your SRD grant has been approved and you need to change your banking details, you can do this through the official SASSA SRD website.

You will need to enter your South African ID number. SASSA will send an SMS with an OTP to the cellphone number linked to your SRD application. Follow the instructions in the SMS carefully to complete the banking update.

SASSA states that your grant can only be paid into a bank account that belongs to you. If you choose a money transfer option, the cellphone number used must also be registered in your own name. New banking details are only used for future payments after verification.

Steps to Update Banking Details

1. Visit the official SRD banking details page.

2. Enter your South African ID number.

3. Wait for the SMS with your OTP.

4. Follow the instructions in the SMS.

5. Choose your payment method.

6. Confirm that the bank account or cellphone number is registered in your name.

7. Wait for SASSA to verify the new details.

Important Safety Tips

Never share your OTP, bank PIN, card number, or online banking password with anyone. SASSA will not ask you to pay a fee to update your banking details. Only use the official SASSA SRD website when changing payment information.
